Elder Cannon Eagar- Dominican Republic Santiago Mission February 2025 - February 2027

  Yo yo yo well this week has been pretty dang good! We had transfers on Thursday and i got to stay in Tamboril which i am happy about and i got a new companion! Hes from phx and only has like 2 weeks left untill he goes home so thats pretty crazy. Then i get another new companion that i already know and is from belize 🇧🇿! He speaks english and he is one of the kindest most loving guy ive ever met. But me and my companion are getting along well right now and my spanish had pretty much changed overnight im talking so much now just because i pretty much leading the area so i get to have the phone and text and call everyone its been going very good!! One day we were walking down the side walk and just walked under a giant tree and a giant gust of wind came through and ripped a bunch of big limbs out that surely would have done some damage to me and my companion.   This week has gone by so fast its been crazy. Transfers are coming us this thursday and im pretty sure im staying here which is good for me because i really like it here. We are currently teaching a guy named Hamlet and he may have a bit of a gambling problem... we were talking about it with him and he says "but I put in $100 and i get $3000 its beautiful!" It was pretty funny. Then we bought up what about the other times you dont win then he was like oh ya. Hes been progressing very well but just wont come to church which has been hard but. One day we were just walking down the street and this giant dog that looks like its got every disease known to man runs up to me and was growling and barking like right on me i could pretty much smell its breath. i thought it was gonna bite me and i was gonna have to grab it by the neak and beat it.   Hola! This weeks been pretty eventful to sum it up. Quite a bit has happend and some fun stuff to go along with it! To start off the week we were in a Carrido which is like a taxi thing but three people up front and four in the back. We were on our way home from our meetings and it was like a 30-40 min drive. The sun was cooking and i was so squished and sweaty it was bad. But i was so tired that i fell asleep and My companion did too.... lets just say i woke up to a sharp turn that felt unfamiliar and immediately yelled "Donde puedas" which just like mean pull over where you can. Stafford woke up too and lets just say we had to walk a little bit more then usual. We were able to put 4 other people that we've been teaching on date so thats awsome!  What an week its been! Been hot to say the least and sun is so draining but lucky the nights aint been too bad. This week was very crazy. I had to go to Santo Domingo for my residence. It was about a 3 hour bus ride so you know i slept on that bus. I had to get my blood drawn and i freaking hate shots then just imagine a lady that you can barly understandstick a needle in you. Absolutely terrifying who knows if that needle was even new hahah. I got home late that night then the following day had to go into the city for interviews then we had a exchange. I got to go with a giant Haition dude that is absolutely scared of getting deported and getting jumped. The whole time he was on edge and everytime we would walk through my short cuts which are through fields he always said i dont like this i dont like this.   This week has gone by so fast feels like it should be Wednesday or somthin. We have been very busy this week and have had a ton of lessons with some good people. Lots and lots of walking back and forth just because people can only meet at specific times. Its been soo hot its been crazy and its only getting hotter. When we get home even the water in the shower isent cool enough to make a difference it feels better but you get out and back to sweating pretty much. Lucky the waters been better so that hasent been a problem for us. We had 6 people come too church this week which is good but it is so hard for people here to continue to come and want to learn. They have a hard time leaving things behind or makeing a sacrifice for somthing. But this sunday we had a bus full of teenager's (Gringos) come to church they are doing some service thing here but.
