Ratatouille!π
Wepa! What a week its been in the DR... last monday which was p-day went to the beach which was like 3 hours of buss riding and a ton of money big mistake bit it was fun and pretty. On the way there we got stopped on this one buss 4 times. The police and boarder control stop the buss and get in and walk all the way to the end to the bus which is where we sit... on the third one we were told to get off and follow this dude. I felt powerless being in normal clothes but we got off and walked to this table and they cheaked all of our papers and asked us where we were going and let us go. Good this my companion was legal at that point... we received a bunch of rain like 4 days in a row every afternoon and two days in a row we saw the lightning that took out the power for a few hours. One day it has rained and we started the day off and crossed a little "wash" and were teaching on the other side. Ended up dumping rain for bout a hour and a half and when we started to leave this area we relized that this was was now running so we had to turn around and spend some more time in that area untill the water got to where we could cross. Nothing like to good dominican street sewage water. Another day we were walking near the drug point area which is totally "safe" and as we walked by the police pull up and jump out of the trucks and go running down off the hill to the so called "drug camp" about time they do somthing i could hint off the police on two more spots but the bad guys would find out and have me killed. I just smile and wave... there is a group of kids that hang out around the house and every now and then i play around with them and the other day they made these bats out of a broken broom stick and put a 1 liter bottle on the end and were hitting rocks off the road at this cow in this tiny pasture he was just in the corner taking cover i just laughed and my companion thought that wasent funny.. which to be fair yes poor cow but at least the kids are off their phone. Pretty much all the kids from the age 1.5 - 35 years old are on their phone alllllll day playing games or scrolling. And if your older then that your drinking and playing dominos with that music all the way up. Its quite a life most of them got. Not all but id say 90%. Its pretty sad but that just the norm here. Im starting to get back into making friend with the local police and civil support. We got some to pull up too church one cilvil support dude, a firefighter fella, and 2 police dudes. He said i wasent allowed to touch his gun or the shinny handcuffs. One day... we had stake conference this sunday so there was food and a bunch of people. We just got to watch the boadcast in our church it was pretty chill and was very good! But i am currently in Santiago spending p-day with that casa elders and the APs so thats fun! We have a truckπ
